– A job with room for development
Are you curious and brave enough to apply for an inspiring and developmental unit manager position in the dynamic municipality of Krokom?
Then you should definitely apply for the Unit Manager position within Support and Service.
Welcome to us!
Our business area, Support and Service, includes personal assistance, day activities, short-term accommodation for children and young people, group and service housing, all according to the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). Additionally, we provide housing support and a group residence according to the SoL (Social Services Act).
We are primarily looking for you who want to take on and engage with the citizens who receive support and services in their daily lives through our operations. You do this both directly and indirectly through close collaboration with and for our staff groups. These work groups are located in central Krokom and in the nearby area of Nälden.
The Social Services Administration consists of 600 employees, with a broad scope of tasks. The administration is divided into five business areas and is present throughout the municipality. Here, we are responsible for providing care and support, assistance and services, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens who need it, at all stages of life.
A day as a Unit Manager at Support and Service
As a Unit Manager, you are responsible for 1–3 staff groups of varying sizes. You lead the daily operations and are responsible for the business, working environment, personnel, staffing, and economy. The role also involves planning, following up on, and developing the business based on goals, guidelines, and legislation. The work is varied and consists of meetings at different workplaces as well as administrative work at the office. The assignment is varied, meaningful, and provides room for both structure and creativity.
You will be part of the business management group and work closely with other unit managers and other players in our organization. The Business Manager is your direct supervisor. The management group operates from office premises in central Krokom, where we meet for joint meetings at least once a week. In these meetings, you participate together with your four unit manager colleagues, and every other week, also with the Business Manager. Just as we expect our employees to collaborate to succeed in their assignments, we think the same about managers – alone we are not strong.
To succeed in the assignment, you have the closest help from your manager colleagues and your employees. Regarding staffing for short-term absences, we have a central staffing pool, which is being upgraded to meet the requirements and working methods decided upon in connection with new staffing and scheduling routines that are being introduced. As a complement and resource to managers and operations, there is business support in the form of business-developing roles and more administrative character. In addition to our own "staff," we have good access to the Social Services Administration's other resources as well as the municipality's staff support such as HR, economy, communication, etc.
Your Competence
Here is what you need for the position:
- An academic education assessed as relevant for the assignment, or experience assessed by the employer as equivalent
- Good knowledge of, and previous experience in, applying relevant legislation and collective agreements within the field
- Good skills in expressing yourself in speech and writing
- Driver's license for car
It is meritorious if you have:
- Knowledge within LSS and/or SoL as well as previous managerial experience from 24/7 operations
- Experience leading staff groups where employees rarely work together due to the operation's round-the-clock staffing
- Experience from the programs Heroma and TimeCare
To succeed in the assignment, you are:
- Structured and flexible, enjoy working both independently and together with others.
- Secure and clear in your leadership role and have the strength and courage to lead in both good and bad times.
- An inspirer who motivates both colleagues and employees with an open and professional approach.
- A person who creates safe and stable relationships. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities as we are looking for someone who can complement the other managers in the management group.
